KHRS Annual Conference 2026 Successfully Held in Kannur
The 16th Annual Conference of the Kerala Heart Rhythm Society (KHRS) was successfully conducted on 30–31 May 2026 at Krishna Beach Resort, Payyambalam, Kannur, bringing together electrophysiologists, cardiologists, fellows, trainees, and allied professionals from across the state and beyond. The conference featured an extensive scientific programme covering contemporary advances in cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), ventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, cardiogenetics, heart failure, and supraventricular tachycardias.
The meeting commenced with dedicated educational sessions for students and fellows under the theme “Foundations to Modern EP Practice,” followed by abstract presentations, challenging case discussions, symposiums, guest lectures, simulator-based training sessions, and an electrophysiology quiz. The scientific sessions provided a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, academic discussion, and professional networking among cardiac rhythm specialists.
The symposium on Cardiogenetics was well appreciated and informative.The panel discussion highlighted the importance of family history,Phenotype and clinical correlation in Interpretation of genetic reports.
A special highlight of the conference was the tribute paid to the memory of Dr. Ulhas Pandurangi, whose pioneering work and leadership greatly influenced the growth of cardiac electrophysiology in India. During the inaugural proceedings, Dr. Narayanan Namboodiri reflected on Dr. Pandurangi’s invaluable contributions to the field, his dedication to patient care, education, and research, and his lasting impact on generations of electrophysiologists. The gathering then observed a one-minute standing silence as a mark of respect and remembrance.
The conference concluded on a note of academic excellence and camaraderie, reaffirming KHRS’s commitment to advancing cardiac rhythm management, fostering education, and promoting collaborative research in Kerala and beyond.
